The final diagnosis of instructional needs begins after the CASAS assessment has been administered and scored.  In order to determine the needs of the learners in your class, you can follow these steps:

          1.  Chart the test results on a copy of the "Class Profile By Competency" form found in your Test Administration Manual.
          2.  Evaluate the chart to determine which CASAS competencies need to be addressed through instruction.
          3.  Choose the competencies that you are going to teach.
          4.  Once you have identified the competencies, use the links below to view lesson plans that can be used to address the
               chosen competencies.
          5.
NOTE: Some of the websites will require creating a log-in, but they are all free.
          6.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Some of the links are for multi-page documents that address many competencies - note the
reference page prior to clicking on the link!

Do you know what to do with the CASAS test results?  The CASAS assessment system is designed to provide the instructor with information that can guide their instructional choices.  This session will introduce CASAS QuickSearch, a web-based database, filled with links to instructional resources.  Additionally, we will explore numerous websites that have lesson plans and activities that are linked to the CASAs competencies."
